Food Buzz: Cibo

2 Jul

After my trip to the salon I went to Cibo for dinner. I had the Pomodoro Classico Bruschetta and Spaghettini Alla Bolognes. I didn’t like Cibo before but after DF and FMIL introduced me to their delicious bruschetta, I can’t stop thinking about it. I am a big fan of tomatoes and cheeses, makes me happy when I can have both in one dish!

The Pomodoro Classico Bruschetta is served with a big slice of bread cut into two, topped with freshly chopped tomatoes, herbs, and then thin slices of cheese. I’m not quite sure what the cheese is, but it taste very good with the whole plate. I usually pour the olive oil (served together with the bread) over the whole bread, makes it more tasty.

I almost forgot to take a picture of the bolognes since I dived right in! This picture was taken after mixing the sauce and pasta. The pasta dish I had was very tasteful, but a little heavy to the stomach. The noodles are thicker than the average ones served with bolognes in other restaurants. Beef and sauce was awesome. It was also served with bread, a very long soft bread to be exact. It was heavenly! I wish it was like at Fazoli’s in Eastwood where the bread is complimentary and you can have as many as you want. Hahaha!

I dined at Cibo in Promenade, Greenhills. Their service was crazy fast! I waited less than 5 minutes for the bruschetta, less than 10 minutes for my pasta. And the servers are very attentive, my glass never got empty as they kept on going to my table and refilling it. The down side is, this branch is a little small, and it can be filled within minutes being than it is located at the heart of Greenhills. Luckily I was able to get a table outside, dined al fresco style for dinner.

Kuya Germs was at the next table! Wanted to take a picture of him but was shy and very hungry. But you can spot him by the window on the picture of the place above.

You may visit Cibo at the Promenade Strip in Greenhills. It’s right next to Grilla and Tender Bob’s. Cibo is also at Alabang Town Center, Glorietta 3, Shangri-la Plaza, Power Plant, and Gateway.

Dads The Ultimate Buffet Experience

27 Jun

I apologize for not update on our Dads The Ultimate Buffet experience. As I’ve said before, we got the gift certificates through mail. According to them, they sent one to every household in North Greenhills.

Anyway, we used them the week after I got the mail. And I tell you, it was worth it! I haven’t been there in a while. Back then I didn’t have as much taste for food as now, although I don’t really eat that wide variety of food, period.

DF enjoyed it at least, he’s so much fun to take to buffets ‘coz he basically eats anything! After our meal, I jokingly asked the person who directed us to our table if they can send another one ‘coz I said we’d eat here over and over again if we had lots of GCs.

Well, less than a month later, our lobby receptionist told me I had mail. Surprisingly, they sent TWO more GC packages! I couldn’t believe they would send a new batch or even two! I don’t know if they did this because I asked (okay, begged!) or if they just accidentally sent three (that would be weird?) but I was happy. But the catch was it was 2 weeks away from its expiration day which was June ___.

We consumed the first free Dads Ultimate Buffet for Two in the 1st week with a friend since we had the discount coupon for Saisaki/Kamayan. It was well worth it for our friend Ayo since he too had a palate for everything edible. Hahaha! The second GC we used on the day of the expiration itself. We went with my best friend and her boyfriend. I gave them two of my Saisaki coupons for them to use. My BFF totally enjoyed the Japanese buffet because she loves Salmon Sashimi and she had like 5 plates of it. She felt dizzy after a while. Hahaha!

Anyway, I would like to thank Dads, Kamayan, and Saisaki for the pleasure of eating that we’ve had and for the gifts. I will make sure we eat there for big occasions since it’s for everyone.

Dads: The Ultimate Buffet + Kamayan + Saisaki

22 May

I’ve always loved buffet restaurants, not because I eat a lot (I swear I can’t go more than 2 plates!) but because I love to mix and match foods. I remember going to Saisaki & Kamayan along EDSA when I was little, I don’t think Dads was part of the empire that time yet. Saisaki covers the whole second floor of the building. Even then I loved Japanese food. I’d go there with my childhood best friend whenever Mom would have meetings or gatherings with her friends at Kamayan. I didn’t love Filipino food as much as I loved the Japanese cuisine.

I have a quirk where I would eat Japanese foods like Tempura or anything beef while it mixes in with the flavors of Sinigang and Adobo. Some mind find it gross but I love it!

I don’t think I’ve been back since somewhere between 2006-2008, when my Mom gave me two free buffet coupons they gave her.

Now look what I got through the mail:

Okay, Mom isn’t here so that means I can use it right? Hahaha! And it says its transferable to children of recipient too. I don’t know how she got herself in their mailing list or what, but I am thankful!

Inside the package:

1 Free Dads Ultimate Buffet for Two (2) – it says it includes Kamayan and Saisaki Buffet (!!!)

1 Free Bottomless Iced Tea for Two (2)

1 50% Off Coupon for Saisaki Buffet

1 50% Off Coupon for Kamayan Buffet

1 15% Discount for Whole Kamayan Lechon de Leche

I’m not a big fan of lechon, so I don’t know where that’ll go. I only like them during Christmas or New Year or fiestas. I get so disappointed when the skin is not crunchy. LOL!

Dads is the perfect venue for any occasion specially if your guests are heavy eaters. It satisfies every craving! Oh! And their dessert choices are amazing. From cakes and pastries, to ice creams and crepe!

I recommend calling to reserve tables beforehand if you’re bringing in a big party. I think you’ll get a special room or a private area, I’m not so sure.
